Delivered a CASS Skilled Person Report for a wealth management infrastructure firm

The Skilled Person Review assessed whether the Firm’s CASS governance, systems, controls, resources, oversight and skills were appropriate. There was particular focus on the Firm’s Client Assets (CASS 6) controls.

We performed a full review of the Firm’s arrangements in line with CASS 6 and particularly its internal and external reconciliation arrangements, treatment of discrepancies and the manner in which its data ensured compliance with CMAR reporting requirements.

Additionally, we reviewed the CASS training and resourcing, including the breadth of skills available to perform key CASS roles as well as the Firm’s CASS policies and procedures. We further analysed the Firm’s CMAR reports for their accuracy and alignment with relevant CASS data sources.

The Firm’s CASS arrangments were materially robust. We advised the Firm on some improvements it could make to the alignment between risk processes and CASS and some administrative improvements it could make to CASS Governance and process.
